Technical Program Manager Job Summary GrapeCity is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to be based out of our Kirkland, WA office, offering software development and project management services primarily focused on the hi-tech industry (software product companies) in the Pacific Northwest. This position reports to the Director of Technology. Description The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for helping with the selling of outsourced software development services, driving revenue growth opportunities through proposal and acceptance, facilitating execution of projects, taking ongoing responsibility for managing business relationships with targeted key companies, as well as guiding technology centers in technical and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities - Assist in business development efforts as a technical resource during sales discussions with prospective customers
- Assist the sales team in qualifying opportunities and identifying needs that align with GrapeCity’s services
- Facilitate the sales process and help clients make trade-off decisions between cost, schedule, and project scope
- Work with customers to define a Statement of Work, including scope of work, deliverables, success criteria, resource requirements, cost and timeline of projects awarded to GrapeCity
- Lead GrapeCity technical staff’s collaboration with customers to define the scope, and technical as well as functional specifications of the project
- Develop and drive product schedule commitments. Monitor project activities to ensure project success with respect to schedule, cost and quality expectations
- Act as liaison between GrapeCity and customers
- Communicate progress, risks, cost and other measures of delivery progress to project team members, customer and GrapeCity internal stakeholders.
- When necessary, escalate project status/issues/risks to management and internal or external stakeholders.
- Actively identify, prioritize and resolve issues, risks and changes
- Ensure development and maintenance of relevant project documentation including requirement specifications, contracts, schedules, project reports, communication (email) records, design specifications, meeting agendas, minutes and status reports
- Assist in advancement of GrapeCity’s technical and project management processes, methods and tools
Qualifications - Recent experience with all phases of the software product development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, specifications, development, test, product release, and sustained engineering, which can be demonstrated by:
- Previous or current hands-on development experience (Knowledge of Microsoft .Net development environment preferred)

- Experience as a development lead, or team lead managing the technical work of a development team
- Experience as a technical program manager or technical project manager for complex software development projects
- Knowledgeable in various software development methodologies and capable of identifying the methodology appropriate for business and technical needs of a project.
- Experienced in using an iterative/agile development methodology with offshore development teams
- Mastery of project management principles, tools and technical document preparation, such as project plans and functional specifications is expected
- Direct experience with PMI or other project management toolset/certification is a plus
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects is a plus
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills (language communication skills as well as political and diplomatic skills)
- Exceptional troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer management skills and abilities.
- This position will require direct interaction with clients, virtual clients and development teams, and as such, this person must be skilled at working with people at all of these levels.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical field
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
