ActiveReportsJS Designer: Quick Start
This quick start section will guide you through basic designer operations.
Create a new report
Go to File > New.
In the New Report dialog, select the RDL Report or Page Report template.
Open an existing report
Go to File > Open or click the Open button on the Menu bar.
In the Open dialog, browse to the report in your system directory and again click Open.
Save a report
Go to File > Save or Save As or click the Save or Save As button on the Menu bar.
Specify the name of the report in the system directory and click Save.
Note: On Linux, the report file extension is not saved automatically. You have to type the extension (.rdlx-json) along with the report name when saving the report.
Preview a report
Click Preview on top of the designer.
Note: If you are previewing a report bound to CSV data source, you need to keep the CSV data file at the same place as the report and edit the path to the data file in the connection string as, for example:
Path=MyOrders.csv;Locale=en-US;TextQualifier=";ColumnsSeparator=,;RowsSeparator=\r\n;HasHeaders=True
