ComponentOne Delivers New Data Visualization Controls and Adds New Features in Studio Enterprise

2014 v2 Release Helps Developers Better Connect to, Manage, and Display Data in Modern Interfaces PITTSBURGH, PA – July 15, 2014 – ComponentOne a division of GrapeCity, the largest component solution provider in the Microsoft Visual Studio Partner Ecosystem, has released ComponentOne Studio Enterprise 2014 v2. ComponentOne Studio Enterprise is a world-renowned suite of data and UI controls for Microsoft Visual Studio, including Windows Desktop, Windows Store, and HTML5. The highlights of the 2014 v2 release include new and enhanced data visualization controls for the Web and new controls for the Windows Store to help developers display and manage appointment data in their apps. “With our v2 release we recognized the need in the developer tool space for new features and controls in order for our clients to build the best Windows, Web and Mobile applications possible,” said Greg Lutz product manager at ComponentOne, a division of GrapeCity. “Our 2014 v2 Studio Enterprise release features a new Sparkline control for HTML5 and Web Forms, Entity Framework 6 support for the Windows Desktop platforms, Chart and Grid export in HTML5 and Web Forms, offline Maps for WinRT XAML, a new Windows 8 Scheduler, a new RadialMenu for WPF and Silverlight, and more,” said Lutz. In an era where the analysis of data is crucial, ComponentOne has created a control that permits the visualization of trends even in the smallest spaces with ComponentOne Sparkline. With Sparkline, data trends are displayed at a glance in dashboards, lists, grids, and inline text. “Sparkline was developed to be used in your Web Forms, MVC, or JavaScript/HTML5 apps to help your users turn data into a format suitable for decision making,” said Lutz. While styling is an important part of the application development process, an app is only as good as its performance. With this in mind, ComponentOne updated their Entity Framework DataSource components to support the latest version of Entity Framework 6.x. “Our C1DataSource control adds performance enhancements including data virtualization to your WinForms and WPF data grids,” added Lutz. With the industry’s first drag-and-drop scheduling control with in-line editing, developers may now build their own appointment scheduling apps with the new ComponentOne Scheduler™ for WinRT XAML. Schedule one-time, all day, or recurring appointments with reminders, labels, and availability status just like Microsoft Outlook® and the Windows 8 Calendar app. The company’s website hosts a video that shows how users may easily perform data binding, and interact with the new Scheduler for WinRT XAML control.
