Welcome to 2016! It's time to check out the ComponentOne Studio 2016 Roadmap: what we're doing, our primary focus, and how we'll deliver it to you. 2016 is the year of the core controls and focusing on what we do best—grids, charts, and reports.
By the end of the year, these core controls and their extensions will be available in ASP.NET MVC, WinForms and WPF; UWP will have them all by the end of 2017. FlexSheet, our new lightweight spreadsheet control based on FlexGrid, will be available in MVC, WPF, and UWP.

About our core controls
FlexGrid
FlexGrid's feature-rich front end and lightweight, highly customizable back end continues to set the standard for grids in .NET controls. Display, edit, format, organize, summarize, print, sort, filter--you name it, the grid does it, and in seven different platforms, too. Learn one, and you can learn them all. If we haven't provided the functionality out of the box, you can dive into the excellent API and build a tree view, sparklines, embed more grids; the possibilities are endless.

FlexChart
Our powerful, modular new chart control will replace C1Chart as the primary data visualization tool in our top platforms. The chart includes all the popular chart types and expected features, including labels, markers, headers, footers, multiple axes and mixed chart types; it's SVG-based for web, and DirectX-based for desktop apps. The new back end provides a simple API and more customization than ever.

FlexPivot
This lightning-fast pivot table is powered by a new data engine that aggregates and processes 10s of millions of rows from multiple data sources in nanoseconds.
Coming in 2016:
- Out of beta in March 2016!
- Opening full object model (query) to developers: Currently, DataEngine queries are internal, created and executed by FlexPivot code. We'll open them in object model for programmers. This is necessary for data blending in FlexPivot, and it's also the key feature for DataEngine itself, necessary for its future use on the server. Without it, DataEngine exists only in FlexPivot.

FlexReport
This new reporting tool, recently released in WinForms, is our fast, flexible reporting tool for modern business apps. We expect it to achieve 80% feature parity for Crystal Reports migration, and it will eventually replace C1Report controls. You’ll see FlexReport supporting more platforms, even JavaScript (Wijmo) and native mobile (Xuni) platforms. FlexReport will have built-in RESTful API services too. Also, you'll see FlexViewer supporting touch support, previewing of multiple document type, and possibly an even more intuitive report designer. We'll also be adding templates for designing in Visual Studio. And at every point we’ll check to make sure we’re the fastest reporting solution provider.

- A converter tool to convert C1Report projects to FlexReport in Visual Studio
- A sample app to convert batch of C1Report XMLs to FlexReport FLXR reports

- C1Word library for creating, modifying and saving documents

This child control of FlexGrid provides essential spreadsheet functions for web applications, including import/export, formulas, cell merging, and more.

ASP.NET MVC
- MVC Edition will be fully compatible with ASP.NET 5 at RTM.
- Web API Edition will offer REST APIs for PDFs, allowing you to export any chart or grid to a PDF. Read about Web API >>

- UWP Edition will be available as a full Edition in ComponentOne Studio in March 2016. It will be $895 for the Edition. WinRT will begin transitioning into maintenance mode after UWP’s launch in March 2016.
