How to Remove the Nag Screen from your Silverlight and Windows Store Projects

ComponentOne Studios for Silverlight and WinRT XAML are unique in that they use a different licensing mechanism than all other ComponentOne .NET Studios as described here. They’re different because there is no standard licenses.licx file if you’re building Silverlight or Windows Store applications. If you are experiencing nag screens (like the one shown below) even after you've activated your key then there is one simple step you need to perform.

  1. Open each XAML page that contains ComponentOne controls and remove all attributes that say C1NagScreen.Nag="True"

If you find any C1NagScreen.Nag="True" attributes, remove them (or set to false) and they will not come back again once you've properly activated your key. All nag screens will then go away for good. If you have not activated a valid key the nag screen attributes will return on future builds of your application. If you still experience unexplained nag screens, then you should contact our support team. Note, you can activate a key by running the C1LicenseActivation.exe tool located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ComponentOne Shared
