What's Down the Road for SpreadJS in 2021

2021 is going to be another great year for SpreadjS! We are excited to share some exciting new features we are planning to add this year.

SpreadJS v14.1

This 14.1 (SP1) release in early May 2021 will introduce the official release of PivotTable support as well as introduce the new BETA for TableSheet and Data Manager. The new PivotTable support is one of the top requested Excel features that we will finally be adding to SpreadJS and will include support for features like layout, styling, dialogs, panels, context menus, printing, formulas, and more.

We may also introduce the new TableSheet BETA, a new module that provides special sheet functionality specifically made for data binding that provides more advanced grid-like features than the standard SpreadJS sheet. Working in conjunction with TableSheet, the Data Manager BETA will handle the data loading, management, and sources with different adapters to handle REST, OData, GraphQL, XMLA, and WebAPI data loading.

In addition to these great new features, we are also adding several customer-requested enhancements to the workbook, charts, calculation engine, and shapes of SpreadJS such as:

• Camera Shape
• Histogram Sparklines
• Gauge KPI Sparklines
• WebService Function
• IMAGE Function
• Shape Hyperlinks

SpreadJS v14.2

The 14.2 (SP2) release in late July 2021 will mainly focus on worksheet and designer enhancements including:

• Password-protecting worksheets
• Centering across the selection
• Context menu scrolling
• Auto-outlining

SpreadJS v15

This major release in early November 2021 will focus on additional Excel compatibility, adding more customer-requested features, and performance enhancements to improve the user experience of SpreadJS.
