Wijmo 2022 Roadmap

Well, 2021 was another solid year of growth and improvement for Wijmo. It was also a big year of change. 2022 marks a new era for Wijmo. We are going into the year with new packaging and pricing that makes Wijmo accessible to more developers. On top of that, we are changing our release schedule for the first time in the history of the product's lifetime.

New Packaging/Pricing

Wijmo Enterprise with Platinum Support is now the only package we sell. It is only $699 new and $499 renewal. We wanted Wijmo to be accessible to more developers, so we simplified the package and lowered the price!

New Release Schedule

We will now have two major releases and two hotfixes scheduled per year.

  1. 2022 v1 - March 2022
    • hotfix - June 2022
  2. 2022 v2 - Sept 2022
    • hotfix - Dec 2022

Why? The answer is simple. We are slowing down slightly as Wijmo matures and are putting even stricter quality measures in place. This doesn't mean we will stop innovating in any way. It is just a matter of extending dev cycles and increasing QA efforts.

These are some things we are planning or considering for release in 2022:

  • Continuing to work with customers to improve Wijmo and add new features
  • Focus on high quality with each release by expanding our test automation
  • More investment into Angular, React, and Vue interops
  • New modern theme(s)
  • Real-world Reference Apps
  • FlexGrid
    • Placeholder
    • ColumnManager
  • FlexChart
    • Grouping
  • FilterBuilder
  • New Input controls
  • New Layout controls
  • OLAP
    • Drill-down in PivotChart

Much of what we focused on in 2021 was based on you, our customers. Our roadmap is always customer-driven, and 2021 will be no different. We spend a lot of our time working with our customers to understand their use cases and needs.

Many of our customers request controls or features directly. We work with them to create requirements, build a prototype, and get feedback before releasing publicly.

If you have something interesting that you want to bring to our attention, we would love to hear it!
