This example demonstrates how to specify basic column definitions, such as order, caption, and size with a simple array.</p> <p>In the source code, notice the <strong>columns</strong> array. It specifies each column in the grid. DataViews will show the columns in the order they appear. In this example:</p> <ul> <li><strong>column id</strong>, <strong>caption</strong>, <strong>dataField</strong>, and <strong>width</strong> are specified for most columns.</li> <li>Star sizing is used to size the <strong>country</strong> column. This tells the column to stretch to fill the available width of the grid so there is no empty space.</li> <li>There is an additional column, <strong>active</strong>, that is hidden by setting the <strong>visible</strong> property to <strong>false</strong>.</li> </ul>
