I'm Kevin Griffin, and I'm a Technical Evangelist

First, many apologizes to the Rich Dudley for totally ripping off copying his trademarked first blog post title.

Now that's over, please allow me to introduce myself! My name is Kevin Griffin, and I am the newest member of the Evangelism team here at ComponentOne. Many of you might already know who I am through my active participation in the developer community. For those that don't know who I am, please read on!

I currently reside in Chesapeake, VA with my beautiful wife, Liz, and my newborn son, Zack. You might be asking yourself, "Kevin, I thought ComponentOne is based in Pittsburgh?" You're right! My day to day work gets to happen here in my home office (which I am now calling the Chesapeake branch of ComponentOne).

In my spare time, I'm involved with a couple of different projects.

  • I am the founder of the Hampton Roads .NET Users Group. We've been running strong for over 3 years, and show no signs of slowing down.
  • I serve as an INETA mentor for the state of Virginia. INETA is the International .NET Association, and it's goal is to assist user groups and community events around the world promote Microsoft and .NET technologies.
  • Microsoft MVP. Last year, Microsoft deemed me worthy of joining the ranks of MVPs. My product group is Client Application Development, although most of my time lately has been in developing web applications.
  • I'm working with Pearson Publishing on a Windows Azure LiveLessons series. It's due out in the next couple of months, so keep an eye out for it!

My goal as a Technical Evangelist is to help you build great software. ComponentOne has several fantastic products to make your life easier, and we support the developer community 100%. Please feel free to reach out to me for any matters concerns sales, support, sponsorships, or speaker requests.

There are several ways to get in touch with me. I'm always available on Twitter at @1kevgriff or via email at keving@componentone.com. Occasionally, I always blog over at http://www.kevgriffin.com for anything non-ComponentOne related.

I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in the community! Now go build something awesome.

Kevin Griffin
