Recap: codepaLOUsa 2011

codepaLOUsa 2011 is a wrap, and Chad Green can look back on a job well done. For a first year conference, it went off with no obvious snafus—every meeting room was well equipped with working A/V equipment (and a slightly scary stage), sponsor booths were spacious and separated by pipe and drape, and cool little bottles of Coke Zero were in plentiful supply.

Attendees came from all over the area, and a group of bedraggled MVPs flew in straight from the MVP Summit to attend. Sessions covered a wide range of technologies at many levels, and half the sessions were recorded! All speakers are (should) be sending their slides to Chad to be posted—I’ve already sent mine.

Prior to the event, Chad was interviewed for the Community Megaphone Podcast, and Dane and Andrew managed to post the interview during the conference. What a cool thing to hear the behind-the-scenes planning while you’re at the conference!

Congrats to Daniel Booth, the winner of our Studio Enterprise raffle. Thanks for stopping by and talking to us at the table, and we hope you do cool things with our components!

Since I was returning to my hometown, I figured this post would have some great commentary about that, but a stomach bug knocked me down for several days and there are no reviews of my favorite old haunts. In fact, the actual travel part of the trip is probably worthy of being included in another Speaker Horror Stories podcast.

Congrats to Chad and the rest of the codepaLOUsa team, and I’m looking forward to #cpl12!
