Display Total/Count Function

    Hi,

    On Data Dynamics Analysis is there a function (like "Display Totals") that returns the number of rows of something.

    For example I have a table with 'n' Cases and each case has 'm' subcases, i need to return the total of subcases that have each case.

    By the way, one more question, when you load a layout is neccessary to dont have a connection in place even if  I'm using an unbound data source?

    Thanks and BR

    With the second question I tried with the methods given on "How to save/load layout"

    and it is getting me the foolowing error " DataSource cannot be serialized to file since it does not implement IPersistXmlSettings."

    As I mentioned, Im using an unbound data source, in a windows form app.

    Hello,

    Could you give me a a screenshot of where do you want to calculate the totals. Also regarding your second question, please let me know what kind of application are you creating (windows or website)? Also, where do you try to save the layout? On the hard drive or in a database?
    Note that you would need active connection to SQL to load layout. If you want to work offline then you can save local cubes.

    Here is a sample code to save layout:
       fs = new FileStream(Application.StartupPath + "\\myLayout.analysis", FileMode.Create);
                        using (XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(fs))
                        {
                            this.pivotView1.Write(writer, DataDynamics.Analysis.PersistSettings.Layout);
                        }

                        MessageBox.Show("saved");

    Regards,

    Hi, this is the screenshot.

    I would like to see in the total field the number of rows of each bucket. For example in the bucket name 'AAA' it has 7 items, so I need to display that value in the total field, in the row level. Is this possible?

    Hello,

    Sorry for the late response, for the 1st question I was asking I resolved later, I have to modify the design of my table to get this possible.

    For the second one I'm only saving the layout, I've realized that is no neccessary for me to save the data source or another thing.

    Thanks anyway. n_n
