Field limit

I noticed the below in your documentation --

Data Dynamics Analysis allows you to place up to 8 fields placed onto the multi-item shelves

What does that mean exactly? 8 fields per shelf or 8 fields total? Actually, either one is bad. When using an RDBMS and expressions that must be calculated after the data is aggregated in the control, the number of measures can get numerous especially if they want to see the data as is and as % of row/column. Some of our clients have ~20 datafields in dynamicube but half are hidden.

    Thanks

    Dan,
Analysis is really only limited to the hardware of the machine on which it is running.  This is simply an issue of incorrect documentation.  I have entered a Case for this (Case 33739) and linked your email address to it so that when this is addressed you will be notified.  Also I would like to point out that as you mentioned in DynamiCube you may have ~20 datafields half that are hidden and several that are calculated fields.  In DynamiCube you would need to have all those fields in DynamiCube's "view" so that it can reference them properly.  With Analysis however, the fields that are only in the DyanamiCube "view" so they can be used for a calculation (that are hidden) would not need to be on a shelf in the Analysis pivot view but only in the schema.  As well, if you do not want these fields to even be displayed in the schema you could just provide them as QueryFields.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.
