Known issues with PivotView/MasterPage?

I have a very simple PivotView that works fine when it's in a 'normal' .aspx page, but as soon as I convert that page to use a master page, it seems like there is some sort of initilization problem with the PivotView and/or its relational datasource. Are there known issues with using MasterPages (if so, are there any workarounds)?

    sdixon,

I have tried creating a similar application at my end i.e I added the Pivot View control to an aspx page that was using a master page. However, I was not able to replciate the issue that you mentioned and the application at my end worked fine .I have also attached the sample application that I created, please try running the same at your end and let me know if this works for you. You will also need to change the Connection string and CustomSchema properties accordingly in the code behind of the default.aspx(in the attached sample) so that they refer to the correct relational database and schema file respectively.

You can find more information on "Connect to Data Sources in Web Projects" here:
    http://www.datadynamics.com/Help/ActiveAnalysis/ConnectToDataSourcesOnTheWeb.html

In case the issue is specific to your application, then please send us your application so that we may look into it.

    Best Regards,
    Abhishek

Thank you for the reply and sample application. They helped greatly in nailing down this issue.

In your sample application, if you remove the ' runat="Server" ' from the "head" tag of your MasterPage, you will see the issue that I ran into.

    sdixon,

Should I assume that your issue has being resolved after adding the 'runat="Server" ' in the "head" tag of your MasterPage or do you need further assistance on the same?

    Best Regards,
    Abhishek

For me, the issue is resolved (tho I do find it strange that where the header runs has any impact on the PivotView control).
