Is it possible to set the output file name for a .pdf report using the expression editor? I am using Report Designer to create .rdl reports to be output in .pdf format. I would like to set the name of the output .pdf file using a combination of a text string appended to the contents of a field. For instance, if the text string is “Test Report” and the field contents is “77186”, I would like to set the file name of the .pdf file to be “Test Report 77186.pdf”.

Is it possible using a script?

    Hello,

Report generation and Pdf export are two completely different mechanisms. Pdf export is executed once the report has been generated. Hence, it is not possible to use the expression to set the PDF file name. You can access the database value using any provider in code and use it to set the name of exported PDF, as a workaround.

    Thanks,
