    Hello Jens,

VsView7 is an obsolete product. Also, it was never tested on Windows7 environment.

I would recommend you to upgrade to VsView 8 which is available in 2 versions for 32 bit and 64 bit environments.

You can download the VsView 8 builds from the following urls :
    http://prerelease.componentone.com/activex/vsview/2011-t2/vsview8_8.0.20112.163.zip
    http://prerelease.componentone.com/activex/vsview/2011-t2/vsview8_8.0.20112.163_x64.zip

    Thanks,
    Richa

    Hello Jens,

As I said earliar, the VsView7 was never tested on Windows 7 so it would be very difficult to predict its behaviour in Win7.

VsView8 has a 64 bit version which works correctly with Windows7 64 bit environment.

You need to contact our Sales department to upgrade your licenses to VsView8. The details are available https://www.componentone.com/Store/default.aspx

    Thanks,
    Richa

Hey richas, thanks for the answer.

Today we use vb6 and vsview 7 on win-XP
We can deploy our product to win7 without any problems, but we can’t develop on win7
Right now we use it in a XP image in vmware, but our company wants to stop using XP!

Our win7 is a 64bit, but VB6 is a 32 bit system, can it be used with a 64 bit vsview8 ? or do we use the 32 bit version together with VB6.

How do we buy an upgrade, I can’t register my vsviw7 on my account.

    /Jens

    Hello Uaniraj,

VsView product only has Vsview8.ocx files available. You would need to register them using the following command in command prompt and then use it in your application :
    c:\Windows\System32>regsvr32 vsview8.ocx

    Thanks,
    Richa

    Hello Fernando,

In order to upgrade your legacy VsView7 projects to the latest VsView8.0 version, you need to use the CONVERT utility supplied with the distribution disk. Also, both the versions should be installed on your machine in order to convert yout projects.

Next, to install the latest version please follow the below mentioned steps :

    1) Download the latest VSVIEW build : 8.0.20132.171, from the link below :
    http://prerelease.componentone.com/activex/VSView/2013-T2/

This is a 64 bit version of the control and you can register the same on your machine. Please refer to the following blog post wherein it has been discussed on how you can register the 64bit activex controls on your machine :
    http://our.componentone.com/2012/02/10/registration-of-64-bit-activex-controls/

I would again like to mention here that we no longer provide support for the controls below version 8.0.

Now, run the conversion utility as is mentioned in the following documentation links :
    http://helpcentral.componentone.com/nethelp/vsview8/#!upgradingfrompreviousversions.htm
    http://helpcentral.componentone.com/nethelp/vsview8/default.htm#!upgradingfromvsview71.htm

Let me know if you still face any issues with the same.

OR, download the latest VsFlexGrid8.0 build : 8.0.20141.302 available at :
    http://prerelease.componentone.com/activex/C1FlexGrid/C1FlexGrid%208.0/2014-T1/

    Hi Reema:

The files are for Flex8. i Use the Flex7 in my applications. i don't think this is the solution to my problem right? otherwise i have to change the component on the dev machine and recompile and reference this flex8 files on the deployed machines.

i need to register the flex7 files on win 8 64 bit.

    what should i do?

    Hello,

As informed in my earlier post, VsFlexgrid 7.0 is an obselete version of the control and we no longer provide support for the controls below version 8.0.
Furthermore, it was never tested with Windows 8 environment as the same was not available at that time. Therefore, there might exist some issues.

But still, if you wish to test the behavior on a Windows 8 machine, you can download the VsFlexGrid7 files from the link below :
    http://prerelease.componentone.com/activex/C1FlexGrid/C1FlexGrid%207.0/

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

We do not have 64 bit version of VSView Reporting Edition specifically as such. However, installing Studio for ActiveX installs the report designer on the following location on the machine:
    C:\Program Files(x86)\ComponentOne\Studio for ActiveX\VSView 8.0\bin

Please download the installer from the following link:
    http://www.componentone.com/Studio/Reporting-Documents/VSVIEWReporting

    and, it should work.

    Thanks.
