I have old VB6 software with TDBG5 to maintain. VB6 runs ok on win 7 but I can't install Truegrid with original CD ( setup won't run,16 bit setup I believe). I've copied files manually but when adding a grid in design mode 'Licens information not found ..... shows up. Does anyone know how to manually install/ change regedit to get around this problem. Googled on this issue and found one topic where they claimed that this issue was solved but but no info on how to.
    Any help appreciated

    Hello Håkan,

You may try to register your product using Regsvr32 utility. If the license nag is observed then you need to license your product.

However, TdbGrid 5.0 is an obsolete product and we no longer support it. Also, it was never tested on Windows7.
I would recommend you to upgrade to Latest version of TdbGrid 8.0 which is tested on Windows7.

    Thanks,

    Hello Håkan,

The license registration of TdbGrid 5.0 will not work in Windows7.

You will need to upgrade to the latest version. Please contact our Sales department to upgrade your licenses.

    Thanks,

What did you do to actually register it?
Did you just copy the registry entry from another machine?

    Hello ,

You can try licensing the control with your Key using the attached "C1LIC.EXE" utility. You can download the exe from the following url:

Thanks for reply. I've registered the ocx but need to register license. From what I've seen in different forums it will work on win 7. I've got VSOCX6 to work ok by changing a reg key. I know that I could upgrade but not a goog option since I've only have to maintain old software that works just fine with ver 5.0. I've tried to examine registry from an old working pc with TDBG5 installed but can't figure out what reg keys holding the registry information. I have respect for that such an old software can't be supported but a hint how to get it work by changing registry would be appreciated
    Regards Håkan
