    Hello,
I have the following problem. Our legacy system have bought the VsView3 component many years ago and now we would like to rewrite the system to .NET WPF. I use the VsView8 in the new system, it works good. But we have only one but serious problem - the reports created by VsView3 look in VsView8 differently. The difference is the report in VsView8 is wider and it means that some elements of the report shifted and the whole text can not be fitted on the page.
Maybe this problem is very simple to solve but I don't know how.
    Thanks

    Hello,

There have been many changes in VsView 8 control as there were many versions of the control (4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) between version 3.0 and 8.0. Hence you might see difference in the rendered reports.

However, if you could provide us with your sample and report definition files, we'll look at them and see how we can help you in solving your issue.

    Thanks,
    Richa

I've attached the test file. If you just look at the preview everything looks good but when you try to print it out, you will see the difference. The same problem is with VsView7, but with VsView8 is even worse.
The file I've attached is not actual zip, just rename it to txt or what you want and try to load into VsView.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

We are unable to read the attachment after converting it to txt sent by you. Could you reattach it with its original extension.

    Thanks,
    Richa

Okay, I'm attaching the real zip file, just unpack it. It contains c.tmp file that could be loaded into VsView.
    Thanks

    Hello,

As I told you earliar, there have been many changes between VsView 8 and VsView 3 controls. Hence there is difference in rendering of reports. We don't have tract of exact change that might have caused it, but maybe introduction of new properties, or changed the behaviour of a method that renders report.

I regret ti say that we cannot help you much on this.

In case you want to work in WPF then please use our C1DocumentViewer (WPF Report) control.

    Thanks,
    Richa

Thanks for the answer. Is C1DocumentViewer compatible with reports generated by VsView3 or VsView7? Can it read this reports? The problem as I said before is we have a lot of reports saved in this format and we need to print them out from our WPF system.

    Hello,

The C1DocumentViewer loads only report definition files(.xml) created in C1ReportDesigner. The C1ReportDesigner is installed with the Studio for WPF installer.

As there are differences between ActiveX and WPF technologies and how they work, you would need to modify your reports accordingly.

    Thanks,
    Richa
