Posted 3 August 2017, 3:19 pm ESTI'm trying to build a chart that has year to date totals for each month in a year. I created category groups for the months, so I have a monthly total for each month, but I'm not sure how to get the year to date total for that month. Once I create the category groups, the value only displays the total for that group. If I try to widen the scope for the value, I get the total, but I can't seem to filter this total to only count those equal to or less than the category group value. Is there a way to do this? Or am I going about it all wrong?
Aggregate values in a data chart

You can use the RunningValue aggregate to accomplish this.
If you right click on your Data field and choose Edit, you can change the Value from =Sum([MyField]) to =RunningValue([MyField], Sum) This will cause the height of each bar to be the year-to-date total. If you're looking for a Pareto chart, this post has information on that; including how to create the secondary line instead of it creating a second bar.
