Aggregate values in a data chart

I'm trying to build a chart that has year to date totals for each month in a year. I created category groups for the months, so I have a monthly total for each month, but I'm not sure how to get the year to date total for that month. Once I create the category groups, the value only displays the total for that group. If I try to widen the scope for the value, I get the total, but I can't seem to filter this total to only count those equal to or less than the category group value. Is there a way to do this? Or am I going about it all wrong?

    Hi,

You can use the RunningValue aggregate to accomplish this.

If you right click on your Data field and choose Edit, you can change the Value from =Sum([MyField]) to =RunningValue([MyField], Sum)  This will cause the height of each bar to be the year-to-date total.  If you're looking for a Pareto chart, this post has information on that; including how to create the secondary line instead of it creating a second bar.
