Replied 3 August 2017, 2:58 pm ESTThe writingmode property will work for this application, I think. I'm creating packing labels and the format is very specific. For labels, the ability to rotate text would be handy.
Replied 3 August 2017, 2:58 pm ESTOk, a couple of issues with the writingmode property and tb-rl:
1) It seems impossible to have rotated text flush against the left side of the format? The point of rotation seems to be the end of the text-box and there's no way to put the end of the text box at the left-hand side of the format.
2) Rotated text changes the layout of the page after rotation (at least with a seagull printer driver). IE: If I put a text box between a bar code and some text, it looks fine in the designer, but when printed the rotated label forces a block of vertical white space the height of the rotated text box between the bar code and the text, pushing the text off the page.
3) There seems to be only one direction of rotation.

I've entered Case 117828 as a feature request for textbox rotation. Currently, the WritingMode property is the only workaround, however it is very limited as it was not meant to be used for rotation of text.
Replied 3 August 2017, 2:58 pm ESTCurrently we don't offer a way to control text rotation, though you may want to try changing the TextBox's WritingMode property to tb-rl. If you can provide me with a valid use case for this, I may be able to enter a feature request for text rotation.

Replied 24 April 2018, 9:47 am ESTText Rotation is absolutely necessary for my needs.
I have to create section reports with many, many columns and the only way to fit them in is to rotate the text used for the labels. And making the text boxes multi-line with charWrap and line spacing set to Zero makes the text way too tall; therefore is not an option that I can use.
I can't express enough how critical it is for this feature to be added.
