    Hi everyone,

We have created a 2 column report that is being used as a plant catalogue. The plants are grouped by Genus (Cryptomium, Dennistaedia, Dryopteris etc - see picture below). The group header’s GroupKeepTogether property is set to FirstDetail so that no headers are orphaned and being displayed on their own.

The report looks great except for one small issue: it appears if there is a new Group starting at the bottom of the first column, and the first plant will not fit below the group header in column 1, the group header does not move with the first plant to the top of the second column. The group header remains on its own in the first column.

Is this a bug, or unsupported functionality? Or perhaps I am missing a setting? Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

This is the design behavior of the ActiveReport. Could you please check after setting the “GroupKeepTogether” to “All”, see if the outcome will meet your requirements.

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your reply.

Setting “GroupKeepTogether” to “All” doesn’t really solve the problem. If the group (and all its details) do not fit on the page in question, it starts on a completely new page. So for the example above, Dryopteris starts on the beginning of the next page. I.e. the entire column 2 is blank on the page above.

Do you know if the functionality I am requesting is supported in later versions of ActiveReports?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

Currently, it is not possible even with the latest build of AR. However, I have escalated the case as the feature request to our development team(266176) and will inform you once I get any information from them.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Sorry to mention that this is a limitation of AR. Also, there is no future plan to overcome this limitation.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    Thanks
