Is there a function or a way to determine when the designer has finished loading. Currently, I'm using the custom functionality for loading, editing and saving the report within the report designer with the, designReport, createReport, & saveReport functions. I'd like to know if there is a function or event that I would be able to hook into that would indicate when the designer has finished loading.

Since the Designer is Flash based, it is not really possible to determine when it has finished loading. I would suggest you to write your desired code in the btnViewReport or btnEditReport button click events. Sorry for the inconvenience.

May I suggest a feature for a future release then. Right now when the designer loads it has, what I can best describe as an overlay, which prevents a user from clicking on anything within the designer until it finishes loading. After everything in the designer is loaded the overlay goes away. You have javascript functions that can be called that hook into the designer now for creating a new report, editing an existing report, previewing a report and saving a report. All there'd need to be is some function that would be called at the end of the code that causes the overlay to be removed.

In the meantime for what I was trying to do I'm just using a javascript timeout that's disabling my custom save buttons from being enabled for a certain amount of time and hoping that the designer finishes loading within that timeout time.

    Hi Derek,

Thanks for the feedback and the feature suggestion. We are working on updating the web designer in the upcoming releases and will keep this in mind in the future versions.
