I'd like to know whether it's possible to set a bound report to get data from an oracle stored procedure

with a ref cursor output parameter.

I can do it unbound, but I couldn't make it work with a data control.

I am not too familiar with ref cursors. I found the following example of using a ref cursor online: From this sample, I do not see any problems with using the ref cursor with the data control. However, the data control on the report designer is not our control. It is a microsoft control, so we do not have the source, can not make any changes to it, etc. If there is a problem with it regarding ref cursors, there is not anything that we can do to fix this internally. Your best bet is to take the data source outside of the report and pass a recordset to the report's datasource, or take an unbound approach.

    Hi Peter

thanks for your answer. I had completely missed the datacontrol's recordset property.

I've been trying for a while to use the datacontrol because there is in
fact no problem to get data from oracle with ado from scripts,

but now I'm convinced it won't work (the adodc control doesn't like oracle procs too).

    thanks again.
