Designer: Adding controls manually

When I add a text control manually to the report, the font and size in toolbar are not preset correctly in the dropdown.

After adding the control, the toolbar shows the font and size (ex. 10px), but when I click to change the size, 8px is always selected. So I need to set first another size and than change back to 8px

How I can correct this behavior?

    Thanks

    Eric

    Hi Prantik,

Sorry, I was a little to hasty. I was talking of one issue.

First this is a custom application (see picture http://www.datadynamics.com/forums/127609/ShowPost.aspx), I'm using the Runtime Designer, the version is 2.5.0.1309.

The application has the runtime designer, a report was created and the use can add a textbox via a button to the report.

    Code:

         Set ctrlLabel = objArd.Report.Sections("Detail").Controls.Add("DDActiveReports2.Label")

After adding the control, the toolbar shows the font and size (ex. 10px).

The first time, I can add the textbox and change the font to 8px. But when I dothe same with a second control and I click the "Size" toolbar dropdown to change the size, 8px is always selected. So I need to set first another size and than change back to 8px.

I try to prepare a video to show the behavior. I also got different behavior in Win XP and Win 2000.

    Thanks

    Eric

Here is the video which shows the behavior.

First textbox works fine, for the second I couldn't change the font to 8px.

It seems also, that with earlier version it has worked. Now I installed also build 1309 on Win2000, and it stopped working.

    Thanks

    Eric

    Hello Eric,

We are able to reproduce the issue and have entered Case 136926 to address the same. I have added your email address to the list of affected users and you would be notified of updates. Currently, I suggest you to change the fonts from the properties window and not the styles menu at the top.

    Regards,
    Prantik

Thanks, but this isn't possible. Our desinger app is a "Designer for dummys". They don't have full access.

    Hello Eric,

I would like to confirm the observations that you make. Are you saying that:-

    1)    If you drop a control to the ActiveReports Designer, you see that the font size selected at the top is 10.
    2)    You are unable to change the font size to 8.The only way this can be done is by first changing the size to something else and then to 8.

Regarding the first issue, I would like to inform you that if you wish to change the style for the controls, you may go to File->Page Setup->Styles and then change the styles according to your needs.

Regarding the second point that you have raised, I was unable to verify this. I am able to change the font size to 8 without any error. In this context, I would like to confirm if you are using the normal Designer or the Runtime Designer? Also, could you confirm what build of ActiveReports you are using? Can you provide us with the DSR and the DSX files for investigation?

    Regards,
    Prantik

If that is the case then you need to wait for this issue to get fixed.
