Disabling error message when cancelling parameter prompt in run-time designer

Is there a way to stop the error message from appearing when the user clicks Cancel on the parameter screen in the end-user designer?  Something like the PromptDialogClosed event, but in the end-user designer?

    The steps are like this:

There is a report in the designer.  The user selects a field and clicks the down arrow for the Datafield property in the property list.  As the query gets parsed, a parameter screen pops up.  The user clicks cancel.  At this point, ActiveReports still attempts to run the query and returns an error message about invalid syntax (probably due to the unresolved parameters).

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, this behavior is caused behavior the parameter value is causing the query to not be valid when it attempts to determine what fields are needed to populate the DataField dropdown. Thus the only course of action would be to hard code or supply a default parameter value while designing the report.

You can find additional information about setting the default value in your query string here:

    Thanks,

I do not want to set the default values; the user cancelled the parameter dialog.  Is there something equivalent to PromptDialogClosed?

It appears the error message is displayed in the designer's Alert event.

Ooops, scratch that.  The error only happens when somehow the datacontrol's source gets messed up so that the query cannot even be parsed for parameters.  Otherwise it cancels nicely and quietly.
