Error saving RDF file

We recently downloaded version 2.5.0.1322 of Actrpt2.dll and the viewer to fix a problem with text cutting off on reports.  It fixed that problem but now when we use the save command (ARV.ReportSource.pages.Save sFile) we get an error:

    Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':   Method '~' of object '~' failed

Does anyone else have problems saving RDF files with this version of Active Reports 2?

    Hello,

Have you run the report and displayed it in the viewer before calling the pages.save method. An alternate idea might be to save the document of the report .

    Dim rpt as new Report
    rpt.run
    rpt.pages.save

Yes the report has been run and is displayed in the viewer.  The actual code that we are using is from your sample VB6 code CustomPreview.  It gives the same error when your sample is compiled and the exe is run.  The snippet is:

        If ARV.pages.count > 0 Then
            ARV.pages.Save sFile
ElseIf Not ARV.ReportSource Is Nothing Then
            If ARV.ReportSource.pages.count > 0 Then
                ARV.ReportSource.pages.Save sFile
            End If
        End If

Your suggestion is successful.  The following code works.  However, this requires the report to be saved before it is displayed in the viewer.  It is inconvenient to rerun the report from the viewer save menu since code to construct the report is elsewhere.

    rpt.run
    rpt.pages.save sFile

Any other suggestions or reasons why the new active report version fails when the previous version did not?

    Hello,

I have entered Case 153855 for our developers to address this issue. However, in the meantime, you may switch to the previous build 2.5.0.1314 where this issue is not observed or you may try using the method as I suggested. You may also try using another interim build (later than 2.5.0.1314 and where you should not observe the text cutting off) at this link.
