    Hello!
I have a problem with Active Reports 2 - PDF export in combination with the search function in the new Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.

    1) In my example i, try to load an existed "test.rdf" file in the ARViewer Control.(click on the "load" button).
    2) By clicking on the "export" button the programm creates a "test.pdf".
(Sorry the RDF-file is in german but the language is not really necessary for the example)

So and here is the problem:
    Acrobat Reader 7.0:
If you open the generated "test.pdf" with Acrobat Reader 7.0 and search for the word "wir" (only on the first side), you will find the word one time. But the word really exists 3 times.

    Acrobat Reader 5.0:
If you open the generated "test.pdf" with Acrobat Reader 5.0 and search for the word "wir" (only on the first side), you will find the word 3 times. That's correct!

I tryed the newest Version of Active Reports 2, but the problem is still there.
    Who can help me?

    Thx.
    Dieter

Hello, now i am in a thight spot.

Adobe will surley not change the search function of the Acrobat Reader 7.0. (Adobe says that the PDF-File is not created with an Adobe Product - so it's not their problem).

Can you help me to find a workaround because i can't change the Acrobat Reader and also i can't change the Export-Dll from Datadynamics -> so i am in trouble.

    Are there any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Taucher Dieter

Are you using the latest build (2.4.1.1283)? If not, you need to be using the latest build.

I have searched the PDF exported report in Acrobat version 8 and it finds the search term in several places. Like Sergey said, this must be an issue in version 7 and you should ask your users to upgrade to version 8 of Acrobat or use FoxIt reader.

    Hello ,

The structure of output pdf file is not depend on version of installed Acrobat Reader.

I believe that the problem relates to Acrobat Reader 7.0
