    Hi,

May I know the planned life cycle for AR2?
And, compatibility between the AR2 and AR.Net rpx format?

More, I would like to know, is it necessary to install the SP one by one? Can I simply install AR then install the latest SP without previous SPs?

    Thanks

    Rgds,

    Joe

    Joe,
Thank you for your questions. I will answer them in the order which they were presented.

    1)    Unfortunately, I do not have this information readily available, but I will notify someone from our product management team to see if they can answer this for you.
    2)    When moving from COM to .Net you will be able to port over your layout, but your code behind will need to be rewritten. You can find some additional information about how to approach this here.
    3)    You can install the latest SP without the previous ones as long as it is a full install. However, to license your product you will need to ensure you install using a licensed install, and then upgrade to the latest build available here.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you!
        Eric

    Joe

Thank you for your interest.   Our support for products will usually last for 1 year after the End of Sale announcement for that product.   We have not announced or have any plans to annouce End of Sale for AR2 (COM) yet.    AR2 is still going strong so I do not see an EoS announcement any time within the next 6 months which means you can be assured that it will be supported until end of 2008 at the very least.

RPX files are compatible between COM and .NET as far as layout is concerned.  However, the code behind and script code would have to be rewritten in .net, of course, just like you would with the rest of your application.

How can I subscribe myself to the EoS announcement so that I can be notified as soon as an EoS is issued?

Thank you for your reply. You can subscribe to receive ActiveReports announcements (such as an EoS announcement) in our announcements forums here.

    Thanks,
        Eric

Usually your company does not announce EoS for the product.
