    Hi,

I am using AR 2.3.3.1275 and every time I load the attached report it crashes my app. Can you test this to see why.

    Thanks

I just installed 2.5.1314 and the error still occurs. The error also occurs in the diamond reports example.

This doesn't look anything like the original file. I need it to open in v2.3.3.1275. Can you let me know what the issue was so I can try to resolve it in that version.

    Thanks

Thanks PrantikS, but what was the issue? How did this occur?

This report is stored in a database and is not easily modified.

    Hello,

Allow me sometime to analyze the RPX. I will post my observations soon.

    Prantik,

I already analyzed the files and found that the VBScript was removed, the connection datacontrol was removed and the syntax to define the fonts for numerous controls was changed. I used WinDiff to get the changes. But that does not help me with what exactly is causing the crash.

    Thanks

    Hello Dan,

We are working on analyzing the issue of the RPX not being loaded . Please allow us sometime so that we may investigate further
to find the exact cause of the behavior.

And we don't want to make changes to any of the additional reports due next week for fear they will get corrupted as well.

    Thanks

    Thanks

Thanks but this doesn't really help me because so much was changed. Can you tell me what the issue is with the layout.

    Thanks

    Dan,

I just opened the attached RPX in a text editor and then copied the contents and created another RPX file with the same contents.

The new RPX gets opened in the designer perfectly.

I went ahead and checked the differences between these two RPX through WinDiff.exe and found that your RPX had some junk characters in the beginning.

Please find attached the new RPX and let us know if this works for you or not.

    Regards,

    Amit

    Great, thanks.

I was able to fix the first one. I changed the same field in the 2nd and it no longer crashes the app but the layout does not load. Thoughts on why?

    Hello Dan,

In your original RPX, there were two controls with the same name txtDscr and txtdscr. The RPX loads fine after the second control was renamed. Please make sure that the control names are different as VB is case insensitive.
