Run Error

    We have some customers (this error doesn't happen in every machine) who are experiencing an error when calling the Run method of the ActiveReport Object. We don't know why, but if we put a MessageBox just in the line below the Run calling, the program runs normally...
    We have tryed to solve this problem, with no result, by:
    - changing the property ShowMessages = False
    - trying to catch the exception in the rpx file with
       Sub OnError(Number, Description, Scode, Source, HelpFile, HelpContext, CancelDisplay)
          CancelDisplay = true
       End Sub
    - making a sleep in the line below (maybe this could sound a little mean, but we are so hopeless)

    The ActiveReports Run method calling is doing just before showing the form that contains the ActiveReport.

    Somebody can help us?

    I have faced with similar problem when the recordset was not updated.

    Do you set the data connection string at design-time or in the code-behind?

    Could you send me the sample of application?

    We are setting the data connection string in the code.

    Here you are a file with sample code.

    Thanks for your interest.

    Hello ,

    What datasource do you use?

    We are connecting throw IBPhoenix ODBC Firebird Database driver v1.2

    Our connection string is something like this:

    Provider=MSDASQL.1; DRIVER=Firebird/InterBase(r) driver; CHARSET=WIN1251; UID=SYSDBA; PWD=masterkey; DBNAME=C:\DATABASE.GDB

    1) What build of Active Reports do you use?

    2) Try to execute same query with MS ADO data control and return recordset to DataGrid.

    We are using 2.4.1.1283 version.

    On the other hand, we are sure that the query is correct. This error only happens to a customer. We can't reproduce the error in our computers, but we have done remote assistance (Citrix Program rules!) and make a print screen of the error.
    You can see the error in the attachment. The text is in Spanish, the translation should be;
    "Spinformes.exe has detected a problem and will be closed.
    If you are in process you could lose all information you are working with...."

    Using the MS ADO data control and DataGrid would allow detecting

    the data connection/server problem.
