    Hi,

    When exporting to PDF, is there a way to programatically set security permissions for the exported document?

    Thank you

    Hello,

    Please take a look at this link regarding the security settings of the PDF export filter.

    Prantik,

    Thank you for the reply. I want to dis-allow copying so the user can not copy the text. I want to allow printing only.

    I tried the code from the link:

    p.Permissions = 4 'AllowPrint

    but the text can still be copied. What must I do to dis-allow copying, and allow printing only?

    Thank you,

    -Russ

    Prantik,

    Please disregard my earlier follow-up post.

    I tried to set the print/copy permissions without setting a password and it did not work. I see now that print and copy permissions work only if a password is set. Is there any way around this? I would like to set print/copy permissions without having to set a password.

    Thank you,

    -Russ

    Russ,

    For the print/copy permissions to work correctly, you would need to set a password for the Exported PDF. I am unaware of any other way to do it. You could probably set a universal password for the PDFs and include it in the documentation of your product.
