I have a VB6 application where all the ActiveReports were displaying perfectly, up until Windows 10 Pro automatically updated to version 1703 and 1709. They no longer can be displayed. Please advise how to work around this problem and resolve the issue.

    Hello,

Windows update KB4048955 broke design time for Active Reports. So, you should uninstall the update and the problem should then be resolved.

    Hello,

“KB4048955” should be uninstalled from both machine local and deployment machine. Also, please make sure that “KB4048955” is properly uninstalled from your system. We have many customers for whom issue has been after uninstalling the above update.

If the issue still exists, we recommend you to update to latest version of AR, AR12. ActiveReports 2 is not supported anymore. It is has been declared Legacy. We can not provide support due to the changes in the .NET framework.

ou can refer to the following link for the new features and enhancements:

    https://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#WhatsNew.html

You could use the trial version AR12 which can be downloaded from the following link:

I also have the problem after Windows 10 updated to the ‘Fall’ edition today. I don’t have KB4048955 to delete, but deleted all other updates installed today, well those which had an Uninstall option. I also tried reinstalling ar2ProSP2.5.0.1322.exe etc.

Mohit, Please note that this version of Active Reports has nothing to do with the .NET Framework, so use please don’t use it as an excuse.

    Hello,

Sorry, I meant to say that AR2 was never tested on Windows10 as it was not available at the time of AR2 release. Hence it does not support latest versions of Windows.

I understand that AR2 has some problem with windows10 or its latest update. We have customers who have resolved the issue after uninstalling the ‘KB4048955’ update. That’s why provided this as a workaround.

However, AR2 had been declared as a legacy product long time ago and it is out of development mode hence, we don’t support it anymore now.

Therefore, we recommend users to update to our latest version of AR.

    Hope it clears.

    Thanks,

    Mohit

As Mohit mentioned, AR2 doesn’t support Windows 10 since it was released much before Windows 10 and was never tested.
