Problems installing Flexgrid for Lightswitch 2012RC (unable to load one of the requested types)

    Hi Guys,

I've started with a clean install of Windows 7 (64bit), and installed the Visual Studio 2012RC, and then C1StudioLightSwitch.1.0.20122.24.msi

I can enable other extensions such as the scheduler, but as soon as I tick the flexgrid extension, I get a series of errors on running my project (see below), and no screens will load.

I tried re-installing Visual Studio, and reinstalling C1Studio, but still get the errors. If I remove the reference to the FlexGrid extension, it works again.

Any ideas what could cause this?

    Hello mattireland,

I am putting together a VM right now to test this issue and I will update this post with my findings shortly.

    Hello mattireland,

I was able to reproduce this on my end and have escalated it to the development team for review. For now, you can try and build your project as "Release" instead of "Debug". I was able to get around it temporarily by doing that.

Thank you Justin for this workaround.

I ran into this topic twice for my existing solution. The first time when I upgraded to Studio for lightswitch (Using Visual Studio 2012 RC) when I was able to solve it somehow. But I cannot remember what I did to get it up and running again :(

Now I ran into this topic again when I upgraded to Visual Studio 2012 RTM. Switching to Release mode worked fine but it would be great to find some other workaround so we could debug code when required.

    With kind regards,

    Konrad

    Hello Konrad/mattireland,

This issue should now be addressed in the latest build of Studio for Lightswitch (25). Please download this build from the following link and let me know if you still experience this behavior.
