  I am trying out the Owner Drawn cell type to do some specific formatting (dot leader lines) and I like the way that I am able to format data.

  However, it appears that formulas see owner drawn cells as having data type “other” which prevents data in owner drawn cells from being included in formulas.

  I also have not found a way to activate Edit Mode for an owner drawn cell.

  Am I missing something?

  Hi Gary,

  This is correct behavior, formulas can not use owner drawn cells. Data in owner drawn cells is drawn in DrawItem event.
  
  Also owner drawn cells are not editable by default, you can only show text or image.

  I have looked briefly at custom cell types. Those do appear to be editable if the custom control implements editing. Can formulas use custom cells?

  Yes, custom cells can be used in formulas but owner drawn cells can not.
