    Hello all,

Every once and a while a situation comes up that requires some customization of the fpSpread. The usual answer in the forums is to subclass it but then you have to put it in your tool kit, etc. I wonder if sometimes the solution might be to use the NativeWindow class with the fpSpread and then grab the messages there? I am no expert on this subject and wondered if there are any examples that demonstrate using fpSpread with the NativeWindow class? Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or suggestions!

I am not very familiar with this class either, but reading up on it, it sounds like you could use this to catch Window messages in any window handle, but you would not be able to catch messages specific to the window.

Also, most people we suggest creating a subclass to catch certain events need to be able to change the base class implementation of the message. You would not be able to do this from the NativeWindow class.
