    Hello

I am using the fpspread to display data from  txt files. I want to edit data for a particular column. When i double click the cell, it allows editing but on exit from the cell the original data remains unedited.

I have tried following also without sucess.

Private Sub FpSpread1_CellDoubleClick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As FarPoint.Win.Spread.CellClickEventArgs) Handles FpSpread1.CellDoubleClick

            If
    e.Column = ColNo_HoursWorked - 1 Then

                Dim
    NewNum As integer
    = InputBox("Type new number",
    "New Number", "New")

    FpSpread1.ActiveSheet.Cells(e.Row, e.Column).Text =  NameofGroup

            End If

        End Sub

The error is "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Pl educate me on how to solve this issue .

    Hello Shekhar,

I was not able to replicate the issue at my end. I am attaching a sample and a text file along with this response. I would suggest you to execute the sample by placing the text file in the C: of your system and let me know if I am missing something. If you still face the same issue I would suggest you to provide me with the code that you are using in a sample along with the text file that is causing the issue so that I could help you further on this issue.

    Thanks,

    Manpreet Kaur.

    Hello Shekar,

I was able to replicate the issue at my end. The issue seems to be with Spread v4.0.3510, the one you are using currently, but when I executed the project with latest version of Spread v 4.0.3526, the issue is resolved. I would suggest you to upgrade to the latest version of Spread 4, version v4.0.3526 to resolve the issue that you are facing. You can download the latest version of Spread(v4.0.3526) from the following link:

                                            http://www.clubfarpoint.com/FarPointSupportSite/Modules/Download/updates.aspx

Please let me know if you have any queries further.

    Thanks,

    Manpreet Kaur.

One more thing. I am first storing the rows from txtfile to datatable. Then from datatable to fpspread through binding source. could this be a problem?

    Hello,

I am not very sure if storing the rows from the text file to a data table would be an issue, it would be helpful if you could provide me with the sample depicting your issue and the code that you are using, to debug the issue further. I am attaching a sample in VS 2008 with this response, kindly have a look at the same.

    Thanks,

    Manpreet Kaur.

    Hello,

I have created a sample in which I filled a data table in a dataset from a text file and then assigned the dataset to be the data source of the Spread and I am still not facing any issues, kindly have a look at the sample.

    Thanks,

    Manpreet Kaur.
