Issue with Spread Designer in Version 2.0.7.0 (Still oldie)

    Hi,

We have a project that we upgrade from version 2.0.0.0 to 2.0.7.0 to get the spread designer working in VS 2012. The problem is that the spread designer now drops some lines of code in InitizeComponents when saving changes. The forms initizer and the spreads initializer are both in the same InitializeComponents method. Especially the addition of delegates to events seems to be dropped along with some other declarations.

Do you know of a work around for this?

    Hello,

Spread for Windows Forms v2 is a quite an old control and further it is not tested with VS2012 and might result in issues.

However, I was not able to replicate the issue at my end when Spread v2.0.7.0 was used in VS 2012. Here are the steps that I followed:

    1. Drag and drop Spread on the form.

    2. Add handlers for the Form Load event and Spread's cell click event. The handlers for both these events were correctly shown in the designer file.

    3. Open the Spread designer, set the celltype for one of the columns. Save the settings and close the designer.

Observation: None of the handlers were dropped in the InitializeComponent method.

It would be difficult to further comment on the issue without replicating the same at my end.  Please let me know if I missed any of the steps that would help me to recreate the issue at my end.

    Thanks,

    Hi Manpreet,

Thanks for your reply. We found the source of the issue and it was _not_ far point spread designer afterall but the visual studio form designer. Apparently the way event handlers has been added (maybe manually in initializecomponents) was not compatible with vs 2010 / 2012. So VS decided to remove the incompatible lines.

Thanks for your help in trying to reproduce the issue.

And yes, 2.0.7.0 is a bit old :)

    Kind regards,

    Kim
