Overtyping floating point values in cell do not automatically over-write decimal places

    Hi,

We have recently upgraded from Farpoint 1.0.9.0 to Farpoint 2.5.2008 (ie. .Net 1.1 to .Net 2.0) and have noticed a potential behaviour change when entering decimal values in a cell.

Previously in 1.0.9.0, the first key press reset the decimal place values in the cell to .00, eg. if the cell had 7.56 in it, pressing 8 in the cell would change the value to 8.00. In the new version, if we take the same example, pressing 8 results in 8.56. Note we are currently using EditModeReplace = true; and EditModePermanent = true; We have not changed these settings between versions.

Are there any known issues/changed defaults in the way this is handled internally as we do not specifically set this value ourselves so presume there is a difference between the versions?

Any help on this gratefully appreciated.

    Regards,
    Ed

    Ed,

This was a bug that should be fixed in the latest maintenance release (version 2.5.2011).

Ok, i've upgraded to the latest version and this does appear to have fixed the issue.

    Thanks for the fast response.

    Hi Scotts,

Since  upgrading to this maintance version, we are getting a new error on close up of any combo-boxes on the grids :

Error : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    Call Stack :
    FarPoint.Win.FpCombo.a(Object A_0, MouseEventArgs A_1)
    System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e)
    System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks)
    System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
    System.Windows.Forms.ListBox.WndProc(Message& m)
    System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m)
    System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

This is for every combo-box close up and again, we havn't changed any configuration settings for the grid between versions.

Is this again a known issue and are there workarounds? We are currently having to use version 1.0.9.0 with our application as it does not have the above 2 issues....!

    Thanks,
    Ed

    Ed,

I am not able to reproduce the problem with the combobox closing. Could you send us a small zipped project reproducing this issue for us to debug?
