Shape not aligned with the cell border for some formats.

Hi,

I am opening an excel template into spreadsheet and then programmatically adding a shape to it. I am using the overload AddShape(shape, int ,int). For some templates the shape is not aligned with the cell border.

Please find the attachment for more details, I was expecting the shape border aligned with the horizontal line between column 40 and 41.

What can be the reasons for this? I have checked if the template has any hidden columns or if it is considering wrong row column, but I am not able to find a solution. Is there any way I can find the coordinates of the cell?

Regards,

Nimmi

Hello,

It seems to be a bug with the template attached. Hence, we are escalating it to the concerned team for the fix. We will update you once we hear anything from them.

Thanks,

Hello,

This seems specific to templates to me. Could you please share which template are you trying to load in Spread before adding shape?

Please provide us with a small stripped out sample replicating the issue which would help us in narrow down the issue. And also let us know which exact build are you using at your end?

Thanks,

Reeva

Hello,

We didn't receive any attachment from your end on our archived clubFarPoint forums. Hence, could you please send it again to us here.

We will test your issue with Spread 7 and Spread 6 as well and will share our further observations on the same.

Thanks,
Reeva

Hi Reeva,

Further information, some of my findings are there is a possibility that when column sizes are too small or hidden, fpSpread1.ActiveSheet.Rows[pRow].Height and fpSpread1.ActiveSheet.Columns[pColumn].Width doesn't return correct width and height.
Second observation is there is some effect of zoom on shape, zoom-in to values like 100,200,300 in the original application aligns the shape to column.

Attached is a sample application. The application will allow to open a template, add shape to it from the active cell, zoom-in and zoom-out the template.

Awaiting your reply.

Regards,
Nimmi
