    Came across a sheet referencing issue on Spread Designer 4.0.3515.2008. Please see if you can replicate the problem with the following steps. Please note the specific version of Spread Designer.

    • Open Spread Designer

    • A new workbook show up by default

    • On Sheet1, cell A1, set Cell Type to Numeric, with default settings.

    • Type any number on this cell.

    • Create new sheet... Sheet2

    • On Sheet2, cell B2, set Cell Type to Numeric, with default settings.

    • Still on Sheet2, cell B2, set Formula as Sheet1!A1

    • The number you typed earlier on Sheet1 shows up correctly on Sheet2, cell B2.

    • Save the Workbook as Workbook1.xml

    • Close Spread Designer

    • Re-open Spread Designer

    • Open the Workbook1.xml saved above

    • Go to Sheet2, cell B2.

    • The formula is now shown as #REF!

    If I use Spread Designer 4.0.3500.2008 instead of 4.0.3515.2008, this issue does not show up. Is this a bug on this latest version of Spread Designer?

    Hello,

    We are able to replicate the issue with Spread version 4.0.3515.2008 and have reported it as bug #99915984 which will be fixed in the future release of Spread.

    However, it works well with version 4.0.3512.2008.

    Thanks.

    There may be ANOTHER sheet referencing issue on the "good" version 4.0.3512.2008. Please see if you can replicate the issue by following these steps.

    • Open Spread Designer 4.0.3512.2008

    • A new workbook show up by default

    • On Sheet1, cell A1, set Cell Type to Text, with default settings

    • Type XYZ on this cell

    • Create new sheet... Sheet2

    • On Sheet2, cell B2, set Cell Type to Text, with default settings

    • Set formula =Sheet1!A1 on this cell.

    • Text XYZ show up ok on this cell.

    • Save workbook as Workbook1.xml

    • Open Visual Studio 2008

    • Create a new windows form project

    • Add references to Farpoint components from build 4.0.3512.2008

    • Add this line "fpSpread1.Open(@"C:\......\Workbook1.xml");" to the form constructor to open the workbook saved above. See complete codes at the end of this post.

    • Run this project. The workbook show up.

    • Click on Sheet2. Cell B2 shows text XYZ. So far so good.

    •

    • Go back to Spread Designer

    • Add new sheet... Sheet3

    • On Sheet3, cell C3, set Cell Type to Text, with default settings

    • Set formula =Sheet1!A1 on this cell

    • Text XYZ show up ok on this cell.

    • Save workbook as Workbook2.xml

    • Go to Visual Studio 2008

    • Change the codes to open Workbook2.xml instead

    • Run this project. The workbook show up.

    • Click on Sheet3. Cell C3 is blank, whereas I expect XYZ.

    • Click on Sheet2. Cell B2 is now blank also.

    Here is a complete listing of the codes referenced to above.

    public partial class Form1 : Form
    {

    public Form1()

    {

    InitializeComponent();

    fpSpread1.Open(
    @"C:\......\Workbook1.xml");

    }
    }

    Hello Raymond,

    Yes this was earlier an issue with Spread version 4.0.3512.2008. However, it works well with latest version 4.0.3515.2008 and for the bug reported earlier #99915984 , it will be fixed in the next maintenance release of Spread.

    Thanks.

    Thank you, Reeva. Given that Sheet Referencing is critical to our development, which is the best version that is currently available but have no known bugs on Sheet Referencing?

    Please also send me the link for downloading the suggested version.

    Hello,

    Our latest build in Spread for Win forms in version 4 is 4.0.3515.2008 only. However, for your earlier reported bug #99915984 we have increased the priority and it will be fixed in the future maintenance release of Spread 4.

    And i tested both the above mentioned issues with Spread 5.0.3503.2008 and both of them works well with them.

    Thanks.
