    Hi,

We have designed Winforms using VS 2005 IDE (Vb.net, .Net 2 Framework, Farpoint 2.5.1001.2002) in Windows 2000 box.
And we have migrated our development pc to XP boxs.
After migrating we are unable to open those forms in WIndows XP SP3 box at design time using the VS 2005 IDE.

    Getting the bellow error

    ---------------------------
    Microsoft Visual Studio
    ---------------------------
The control FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread has thrown an unhandled exception in the designer and has been disabled.

    Exception:
BufferedGraphicsContext cannot be disposed of because a buffer operation is currently in progress.

    Stack trace:
       at FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread.WndProc(Message& m)
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

And further leading "OUT OF MEMORY".

    Please help.

    Hi,

The version of Spread you specify (2.5.1001.2002) is designed for use with .NET Framework 1.0 in Visual Studio 2002, or with .NET Framework 1.1 in Visual Studio 2003.  Spread version 2.5.2001.2005 is the comparable version designed for use with .NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 that was released at that time.  The final releases of Spread for Windows Forms 2.5 are versions 2.5.1015.2002 and 2.5.2015.2005 (available here).  I would recommend using version 2.5.2015.2005, so you get all the bug fixes (listed here).  If you are updating your application, you might also want to consider upgrading Spread to version 5.0.2014.2008 for .NET Framework 2.0, which has many enhancements over version 2.5 (listed here).

Did you update Visual Studio and the .NET 2.0 Framework with the latest service packs?  Here is a link for them: Visual Studio Service Packs.

If that does not help, please post or email a sample project with one of these problem forms for investigation by a support engineer.
