Support for Korean & Japanese input

I'm currently evaulating your Spread WPF-Silverlight controls and so far it looks pretty amazing.

However, the controls seems to lack foreign language support as of now. Foregin lanaguage support is crucial for our product.

The issue is slightly different in WPF and Silverlight version of the control.

Below are the steps to reproduce the bug in Silverlight control.

    1. Change input mode to Korean(or Japanese)

    2. Select a cell.

    3. Type some text. the first character gets entered in English character, the rest in Korean.

    * If I explicitly edit a cell by pressing F2 or double-click after selecting a cell, the problem doesn't occur. It only occurs when I type in text immediately after selecting a cell.

Top picture in the attached file is the screenshot of the issue. column A shows the incorrect values and column B shows the proper values.

Below are the steps to reproduce the bug in WPF control.

    1. Change input mode to Korean(or Japanese)

    2. Select a cell.

    3. Type some text. the editing does not begin, instead a little little black pop-up shows up at the top left corner, as you can see lower picture of the attached file.

*I can enter value only after pressing F2 or double-clicking a cell.

There are no such issues when the input mode is in English.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

I am able to replicate this issue at my end. I will forward this to the concerned team and will get back to you with their response on this.

In current control, input by IME will be smooth only when cell enter editing mode by pressing F2 key or double clicking on the cell. And support far-east IME input directly is already a feature we will add in coming future.

    Thanks for your feedback.

Can I have a general timeline on when this feature would be added to the product?

    thanks.

    Hello,

We have no time line to tell you now but it should be added to our upcoming release of Spread for SL.
