    I follow the steps in this forum on how to add C1combobox on asp.net

    but it seems i have an error when I drag and drop the C1Combobox in design view.

     Instead of showing a combobox it shows the gray error box and error says:

    There was an error rendering the control.

    Method Not Found: 'System.web.ui.idatasource system.web.ui.webcontrols.databoundcontrol.get_datasourceobject()'

    All I have on my development machine:

    Component One: Studio for ASP.NET(CLR 2.0) Version 2.0.20093.148

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition

    Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727

    C1.Web.UI2.dll

    C1.Web.UIControls.2.dll

    Other information:

    <%@ Register Assembly="C1.Web.UI.Controls.2" Namespace="C1.Web.UI.Controls.C1ComboBox"
        TagPrefix="cc1" %>

    Note: Our existing site is in .Net Framwork 2.0 so could not update to .Net Framework 2.0 to 3.5 .

    I looked at the msdn and it says that this datasourceobject property is Supported in: 4, 3.5 SP1, 3.0 SP2, 2.0 SP2.  So you may need the update the framework 2.0 SP2 to solve this issue.

    Are you sure .Net Framework 2.0 SP2 is the issue? When  i check the  Add/Remove Program, I saw Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0 SP2 and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

    I'm afraid if my project will run again if i will update to sp2, because our server is .net 2.0.

    hi,

    Dot net 2.0 has three releases, following is the version detail.  If the version number on you PC is not 2.0.50727.3053, you'd better update with SP2.  I am not sure whehter it will solve your issue, but it worths trying.

    2.0 Original release 2.0.50727.42

    2.0 Service Pack 1 2.0.50727.1433

    2.0 Service Pack 2 2.0.50727.3053

    Compact Framework is different from Net Framework.

    @C1_KunY

    This is my .net 2.0 version: 2.0.50727.3053

    then I'll give a try to update in 2.0 Service Pack 2 2.0.50727.3053.

    @C1_RaleighJ

    Yes, I have AJAX installed in my machine, I can use ScriptManager too. I don't have the problem on ajax

    because I have already other projects working with Ajax.

    About the ComponentOne, I don't have the problem if I'm in Windows Form Application

    because I did with in C1truedbgrid, C1combo, etc.

    This is my first time to work with C1 in web application.

    from existing forum post:

    Please give the following a try:

    If you are using VS 2005, follow these steps:

    1.       Open the Registry Editor

    2.       Navigate to HKLM>Software>Microsoft>.NETFramework>AssemblyFolders

    3.       Under AssemblyFolders, ensure that there is a C1StudioASPNET entry with the following information:

    If you are using Visual Studio 2008, use these:

    1.       Open the Registry Editor

    2.       Navigate to HKLM>Software>Microsoft>.NETFramework>v2.0.50727>AssemblyFoldersEx

    3.       Under AssemblyFoldersEx, ensure that there is a C1StudioASPNET entry with the following

    <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

    It's weird, I'm using VS 2005, I navigate the registry HKLM>Software>Microsoft>.NETFramework>AssemblyFolders and I can't find the folder C1StudioASPNET.

    so I navigate the folder HKLM>Software>Microsoft>.NETFramework>v2.0.50727>AssemblyFoldersEx which is

    exist in the registry and also I can't find the folder C1StudioASPNET.

    But, I installed the ComponentOne Studio.NET 2.0, which is located in C:Program FilesComponentOne Studio.NET 2.0 and when I check the add/remove programs there is ComponentOne Studio for .NET 2.0

    and ComponentOne Studio for ASP.NET 2.0

    My scenario is, I first installed the ComponentOne Studio for .NET 2.0 which is properly working in my

    Windows Form Application which I stated above. Now, that I have web projects, so I installed  the ComponentOne Studio for ASP.NET 2.0

    Hello,

    Please make sure that you have AJAX installed on your machine and that you have a ScriptManager on your page.  If it doesn't have AJAX installed, close Visual Studio and install AJAX; then open the project and add a ScriptManager to the page.  If this doesn't help, please see the following forum post:

    http://helpcentral.componentone.com/CS/ASP_NET_5/f/87/p/81415/229225.aspx#229225

    This should work with our 2009V3 controls.  Thanks.

    I checked the version number of the System.web.dll on my PC and it's 2.0.50727.3614.  So you have to update with the latest version of Net Framework.

    Ahhh... System.Web.dll version . ok. here's mine. 2.0.50727.832, anyway, I'll wait first the reply of C1_RaleighJ

    before I will update to higher version.

    Note; I can't update directly to higher version of .net framework. because the webhost server is asp.net 2.0 ,maybe it can cause a lots of error if I'll update to higher version.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Are you on a 32-bit or 64-bit development machine?  If you are on 64-bit, you should check under HKLM>Software>Wow6432Node>Microsoft>... (everything else should be the same except that you need to account for the 64-bit machine like Program Files(x86) instead of just Program Files).  Thanks.
