    Hi C1,

what is the meaning of the checkbox “Page Sets”? Is it relevant for the previewing of C1FlexReports?

Small bug: when the button “Print layout” is pressed (continous view), the ribbon textbox “Page number” is still editable, and I can enter any number in the field. Nothing happens after leaving the field, but the “Back” button is enabled now.

    Best regards

    Wolfgang

    Hello Wolfgang,

Let me check the Page Sets checkbox feature at my end. I’ll get back to you on this soon.

Thanks for pointing out the issue related to “Print Layout” and page navigation textbox. I have reported the same to the development team.

    Best Regards,

    Esha

    Hello Wolfgang,

    Page Sets checkbox:

About the Page Sets checkbox. If you click “Zoom Level” button at the bottom right corner of C1FlexViewer control (in status bar), you can see the Zoom dialog. After un-checking the Continuous checkbox in that dialog, you can specify the number of Columns and Rows in one Page Set.

For example, if you set two Page Columns and two Page Rows and click the Close button in the dialog, your report will be displayed with 4 pages at a time. To navigate to the next 4-pages you can either click “Next Page” button 4 times, or you can check “Page Sets” and click “Next Page” just once. That checkbox makes possible to navigate quickly between page sets in non-continuous viewing mode.

    Regards,

    Esha

    Many thanks for the explanation!

Maybe the tooltip of the button should be improved to contain an short summary of your explanation.

    Hello Wolfgang,

When the user enters page number, it navigates from current position to the beginning of the document. Then, it navigates back to the previous position when the user clicks the “Back” button. This is why the “Back” and “Forward” buttons are enabled.

However, the “Back” button should be disabled if the current scroll position was not changed. This will be addressed by the development team in the future builds.

    Regards.

    Hi Esha,

I tested it again. Maybe my intial screenshot was confusing: in todays testing (using .320), when clicking the “print layout” button (so that it is unpressed), the “Page number” fields display “1 of 1” and the “next/previous page” buttons are disabled - probably because the continous layout does not have pages. But I can enter any page number in the field - nothing will happen, the input fields reverts back to “1”. So, I consider it a small bug that the “Page number” textbox is editable, though I cannot enter any value besides “1”.

Hope my explanation is clear, otherwise I can provide more screenshots.

    Best regards

    Wolfgang

    Hello Wolfgang,

    This is by design.

When a report is shown in this case (non-formatted layout mode), there is actually one long page. So we display “1 of 1” in the page navigation elements. The textbox is disabled if there is no report in the viewer. As per the development team, this is a design behaviour.

    Best Regards,

    Esha

    Hi Esha,

but the textbox is still editable and you can enter any number - though this has no effect. In my understanding, the textbox should also be disabled in this case?

    Best regards

    Hello Wolfgang,

With the future builds, the development team will disable the textbox when page count is 1.

    Hello Wolfgang,

With the latest builds, the textbox is disabled when page count is 1.

In order to verify the fix, please upgrade your ComponentOne version either using C1Live or downloading the latest builds from: http://prerelease.componentone.com/dotnet40/c1winforms/2018-t3/C1WinForms.4_4.0.20183.338.zip

    Best Regards,

    Esha
