What is C1Logger.exe? How do I prevent it from running on my system?

    Thanks.

    Hi Jon,

Could you please confirm whether you are installing ComponentOne and at that time observing this utility running on your system? Or are you observing it even after ComponentOne has finished installation?

If you are observing this utility while installation, then I would like to inform that it is used to maintain step-by-step log files and helps us in scenarios where an issues occurs while installation. So, it should not be stopped.

    Thanks,

    Ruchir

    Ruchir,

It shows up in Task Manager every time I exit Visual Studio; takes up about 25% cpu for awhile, then exits. Sometimes I observe two instances running at the same time.

    Hello,

For this you may navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ComponentOne by using Regedit and delete the Logger string value.

    Thanks,

    Ruchir

    That seems to work.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jon,

I would like to inform you that the C1Logger.exe is a tool which transmits information of the usage of ComponentOne products to GrapeCity. Please refer to the below link for details.

    https://www.grapecity.com/en/legal/product-usage

You can choose to opt-out of this during installation by unchecking the option that says.

“Join GrapeCity Customer Experience Program (recommended)”.

Please refer to the attached screenshot in this regard.

However, if you have already installed, you can disable this option by

    • Uninstall ComponentOne Studio from the control panel.
    • Reinstall ComponentOne Studio by unchecking the option.
    1. Remove the registry key as Ruchir has suggested.
