    I am using the C1.C1Excel.2 class to read in .xlsx files into an application. The dll is version 2.0.20171.248.

    When loading a file saved as .xlsx from Google Docs it throws a System.FormatException.

    Exception thrown: \'System.FormatException\' in mscorlib.dll
    Additional information: Additional non-parsable characters are at the end of the string.

    I am just calling the Load function feeding it the filename of the .xlsx file like in the example below.

    C1.C1Excel.C1XLBook xlsBook;
    xlsBook = new C1.C1Excel.C1XLBook();
    xlsBook.Load(ofd.FileName);

    I have tried all three CompatabilityMode options and that did not make a difference.

    I have attached the an example file to this post that causes the error.

    I will note that the file can be opened in Excel 2016. If I open it in Excel, click the Enable Editing button, and then click on the save icon to save over the file then I can load the new copy.

    Your help with this issue would be appreciated.

    I have installed the latest version of ComponentOne. I am using the new C1.C1Excel.2 dll which is version 2.0.20172.271.

    When loading the file attached in the original post it still throws a System.FormatException.

    Exception thrown: \'System.FormatException\' in mscorlib.dll
    Additional information: Additional non-parsable characters are at the end of the string.

    Hi,

    I am getting in touch with the development team regarding the issue with 2.0 version. I will update you as soon as I receive any information from them.

    Thanks Ruchir Agarwal for the update. The app in question is still using version 2.0 of the framework. So it would be great when it gets fixed in that version. I would like to help test a pre-release version of the fix when it becomes available. I waited for a fix in the last major version update and it didn't quite get there. Anything I can do to help make sure we get a swift resolution for an upcoming version I am willing to provide assistance.

    Hello,

    We could observe the same at our end, hence the issue has been once again escalated it to development team. We will update you once it is fixed.
    However, the issue has now been resolved in "4.0.20172.271" i.e, using the new C1.C1Excel.4 dll does not throw the error anymore.

    Regards,
    Ruchir Agarwal
