    Hi,

How to I search efficiently for issues regarding a particular control? The old forums were much more efficient where I could select a control and search under that topic only or broswe looking for useful techniques etc. Also, have you ported ALL forums entries across? There was a lot of useful information built up in there over the years. I hope you have not discarded it.

    Hi Gerry,

Thank you for sharing your views regarding the new Forums. I have forwarded the same to the concerned people.

Regarding how to efficiently for issues regarding a particular control: You may use the keywords of the issue and in addition to that mention the name of the control.

Like for example, you may search a performance issue regarding C1FlexGrid as “Performance + C1FlexGrid”

Also, yes we have retrieved the old content for further usage.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ruchir,

I’m afraid my experience does not tally with your reply. If I want to search for issues regarding: DataObjects…how Do I do that? Considering that component has more than one control:

    Do I search for C1DataObjects, C1DataSet, C1TableExpress, DataObjects… etc etc…

I searched for “Reuse of dataset”. (this was a ticket I contributed to years ago).

    https://www.grapecity.com/en/forums/c1-archive/reuse-of-dataset

I found the ticket. But I cannot find it if I try to apply a control (component) sub-search.

Which control or keyword would I need to use in order to find the ticket efficiently.

The c1flexgrid example does not work well either:

If I search for “Current Cell” - I get 147 results

    If I search for “Current Cell +Flexgrid” - I get 6 results

    If I search for “Current Cell +C1Flexgrid - I get 1 results”

What about other complex controls: Studio for entity Framework AKA C1Datasource AKA

    DataSource which contains Livelinq, c1Datasource.

You have over 60+ controls in Winforms alone. Some of the controls have multiple parts (sub-controls) to them. Plus each of these controls have many years of forum entries. Componentone

took a very easy, usable forums and made it obscure, difficult to search, navigate and browse.

When I compare your forum to your competitors, I find that you are now miles behind. You seemed to have ruined a perfectly usable system for reasons that I cannot understand…
