Who did this poor localization (C1PreviewPane) ;-)?

See attached screenshot: we use a C1dViewForm based report preview and preview a C1PrintDocument.

The save button (C1dViewForm.cmdFileSave_Click) just calls “this.PreviewPane.FileSave();”.

Unfortunately, the file type list in the SaveFileDialog is poorly translated: it should be “OpenXML Excel” instead of “Öffne XML Excel”. Same for “C1 OpenXML document (c1dx)”.

Is there any chance to localize this ourselves? We already localized C1PrintDocument and C1PreviewPane, but those strings don’t seem to be picked from there.

    Best regards

    Hello Wolfgang,

Let me check this localization concern with the development team [Internal Tracking ID: 350750]. Will get back to you once I hear from them.

    Hello,

    As per the development team:

We have attached C1.C1Report.4.resx file it contains all resource strings, user can edit it directly and replace its C1.C1Report.4.resx (generated when he localize control using Localize… dialog).

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Esha

    Hi Esha,

sorry, I don’t find the strings with the name “Export.XlsxFormatName” in my own localized file or in the localization form.

Here is the screenshot of the localization form (localizing a C1PrintDocument, seems to be the same for C1Report):

    Attached is my resx file:

    C1.C1Report.4_wknauf.zip

    Do you have any idea?

    Best regards

    Wolfgang

    Hi Wolfgang,

I am also unable to find the strings for changing the format names appearing in SaveFileDialog. Hence I am discussing the same with Development team and will get back to you once I receive some information from them.

    Best Wishes,

    Ruchir

    Hi Wolfgang,

The resx file needs to be manually edited. This can be done by opening it in Visual Studio and editing the related “Value” for the file format name.

After this, you can replace the existing resx file with this edited file.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

    Esha

    Thanks, this worked.

Anyway, I suggest to fix the default localization, as it is completely wrong ;-).

    It affects those values:

    • "

    • “Export.XlsxFormatName (“Open XML Excel”) => I suggest “Excel-Arbeitsmappe” as shown in the Excel 2016 save as dialog. If this is changed, the string “Export.XlsFormatName” should be changed to “Excel 97-2003-Arbeitsmappe”, similar to the excel texts.”

    • “Export.C1dxFormatName (“C1 Open XML Document”) => “C1 Open XML-Dokument””

    • “Export.DocxFormatName (“Open XML Word”) => I suggest “Word-Dokument” which is also shown in the Word 2016 save as dialog.”

    "

    Best regards

    Wolfgang
