Created a .net core 3.1 project in VS 2019. Added a new section report (code based). Tried to open the designer, and this is what happens every time

    Running 15.0.4. Any advice? Thanks.

    Mohit,

Hello, do can you share more information about what the Microsoft fix is for designer support, and any guesstimates on when it might become available? Is this something slated for dotnet 6?

  • Posted 26 March 2021, 3:48 am EST

    Hello,

Currently, .Net 5 does not support the custom designer. We are waiting for the Microsoft fix to include the designer support in .Net 5. That’s why, you are not able to design the report. Please refer to the following link to design the report as workaround:

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Currently, there is no news from the Microsoft about the estimated time. I will inform you once I get any new update from them.

    Thanks,

    Mohit

Hello, I’ve just installed AR 16 & am trying to design a code-based Section report in VS2022, and am seeing this issue.

I get the same error in the event log, and the report is stuck on Loading designer…

Is there any update on this issue?

Hey cliffe, if it’s dotnet core and a section report, did you do

    https://www.grapecity.com/activereportsnet/docs/latest/online/designing-code-based-section-reports-in-net-core.html ?

Mohit confirmed that there’s still no relief in AR 16 / VS2022 for code-based design of reports unless you follow that tact.

Hello John, and thanks for the quick reply!

No, I didn’t do that, I was hoping this new version would do away with that & just work.

Did Mohit say that in a forum post, or blog post? Was there any other information, such as news of when he hopes it will be remedied?

    Cliffe,

Unfortunately the answer is… not here, no roadmap.

    https://www.grapecity.com/forums/activereports/section-reports-dotnet-6-a

The problem I’m having now is getting the two references to comply nicely when I attempt to upgrade the references (of which there are tons). I have an open ticket here, which I haven’t attempted to do yet.

    Hi,

Do you have the GrapeCity.ActiveReports.VisualStudio2022.vsix ready for download? I need to run the bootstrapper. I just upgraded to Visual Studio 2022. I am running ActiveReports.NET v15

    Thanks
