    Hi

I have an application that uses ActiveReports for creating documents. On the most PCs, it works but at least on one I get an exception with this message “Add meta data failed” although I do not add any Meta data. With exact the same data on the other machines it is working well.

Could you help me please with the problem?

    Regards,

    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,

Can you test with the latest build? If issue is not solved then please share a stripped down sample of your application replicating the issue so that I can replicate the issue at my end.

You can download the latest version of ActiveReports from the following link:

    Hi Michael

I have just updated to the newest build available on nugget. Although just have licenses only for version 15. On the mentioned PC, I still have the same problem with the “Add meta data failed” Exception.

Do you have any other ideas?

    Hi Andreas,

If you have set the pdfExport.Security.Encrypt property to True please try setting it to False and let us know if you are still getting the same exception. I have also shared a sample application. Please run the sample application on the machine where the error occurs and share your observations with us. It would also help if you could send across your application or modify the application I’ve sent so I can try and replicate the issue.

Also, let me know the Operating System version of the machine in question and if any updates were installed recently.

    Regards,

    Hi Michael

    Thanks!

I did a lot of testing and trying around. After doing some test with your sample app, I have found out that if I use exact the same version of all AR-DLLs it is working as well on that specific PC.

However, if I update to the newest versions of 15 or even 16 the mentioned problem occurs again.

On this PC “OS system build 19042.1466” is installed and no specific updates has been installed recently.

    Regards,

    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,

I have updated the sample to the latest version of ActiveReports (v16.0.0). Please test with the sample I have attached and let us know if you are facing the issue with the sample attached below as well.

    Hi Michael

    Sorry for the late response.

Thanks a lot for the updated Sample. That works correct on the mentioned PC.

I have updated my Application as well to Version 16. Now the PDF export works as expected. Maybe there was something wrong with the nuget cache.

However, we have currently only licensed version 15 of AR.

Could you please tell me which combination of the dlls we have to use or how I can update to the newest version of 15 so that the pdf export is working as well?

    Kind regards,

    Andreas
