We are in the process of re-writing some of our libraries to target .NET Standard 2.0 and do not see any .NET Standard support for ActiveReports 13. Will support for .NET Standard be coming in the near future?

We primary use ActiveReports to generate PDFs server-side and cannot switch these library to target .NET Framework, as mentioned in https://www.grapecity.com/en/blogs/how-to-use-activereports-in-aspnet-core-20. Also, since the code to generate the PDFs will sit in class libraries, using a JS viewer to generate the RDLX won’t work for us either.

You can use ActiveReports in a .NET Standard library project however, you’ll need an application which is developed on the full .NET Framework to use the .NET standard library. This is due to dependencies on the .NET framework. It cannot be used in a .NET Core application. Our teams are working hard to support it as early as possible and will be added in the future. Currently, you could use the new JS Viewer in an ASP.NET Core application to view the reports, however the report generation would require the full .NET framework. For more details on the JS Viewer, Kindly refer the following documentation page - http://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR13/webframe.html#JSViewer.html

    Hello,

SectionReports are support in .Net 5. However, Currently, .Net 5 does not support the custom designer. We are waiting for the Microsoft fix to include the designer support in .Net 5. That’s why, you are not able to design the report. Please refer to the following link to design the report as workaround:

    https://www.grapecity.com/activereportsnet/docs/v15/online/designing-code-based-section-reports-in-net-core.html

    Thanks,

    Mohit
